Hand wash only

Wash the cutting board with warm soapy water and wipe dry with a clean dish towel. Always allow to air-dry in an upright position.

Important:

1. NEVER place in a dishwasher or microwave
2. NEVER submerge or soak in water

Oil Your Board

All Honest Roots products should be re-oiled to maintain product quality. Re-oiling frequency depends upon the frequency and type of use your product receives. Once board becomes dry with no sheen, or cutting marks are clearly visible, it is time to oil your board. Clean the board thoroughly before applying oil. Apply the oil in an even layer using a clean, soft cloth or paper towel. Leave the oil to soak in, overnight if possible, or for at least a few hours. Using a dry, clean cloth or paper towel, buff off any remaining oil so that the board does not feel damp or sticky. We recommend Walrus Oil or The Real Milk Paint Co. cutting board oil.

All Natural Clean

Dampen the board with warm water then sprinkle coarse salt over it. Cut a lemon in half. Using the cut side of the lemon, scrub the salt over the board while slightly squeezing the lemon juice out. Let it stand for five minutes before rinsing and wiping dry with a dish towel.

Remove Stains & Deodorize

Combine 2 Tbsp of baking soda + 1 Tbsp of salt + 3 Tbsp hot water to create a natural cleaning agent. Mix these ingredients together to form a paste, and scrub the entire surface of the cutting board. Rinse with hot water and dry with a dish towel.

Disinfect & Deodorize

White vinegar is an excellent disinfectant for E. coli, Salmonella, and other household bacteria. We recommend keeping a spray bottle of vinegar handy to disinfect & deodorize your wood cutting board. Spray vinegar on the wood cutting board, let sit for a few minutes, then wipe it with a damp warm cloth.
